This is a tribute to Soey Milk's cats, lesbians, & sweets phase <3

A cats, lesbians, and sweets phase sounds way better than a blue phase.

What’s not to love?

florenceofalabia:

I’m debuting a new issue of Comic Stripper at the Michigan Burlesque Festival on September 19th/20th in Detroit, where I’m also performing. It’s all about my experience at last year’s MBF, including events leading up to it. I’ll also have a whole bunch of other goodies. $15 for each day, or $25 gets you a weekend pass. Dozens of performers from around the country. Come check it out!

I’ve made so many comics about my fucking body hair.

Two new updates from me on Filthy Figments to share. As usual, very very very NSFW links.

In Eat Me, will Rhonda sacrifice her life to save a world that might not exist, or can Lola nurse her back to health in time? The penultimate chapter in the series! (Also, I’m really happy with the cover background of the infinite pills; might have to make that into fabric.)

In The Lady Eudora Henley, the competition continues, and girls are starting to get eliminated. Will our narrator be among them? It was hard to find anything remotely SFW in this update to use as a preview.

Plus, we have a bunch of cool new artists on Filthy Figments in the past month, bringing lots of sexy sexy work, and I have a hot tip that some even more cool sexy ladies will be joining us very soon. There’s never been a better time to get in on this.

These are all of the comics that we have on Filthy Figments. 74 stories! More being added all the time. Have a weekend inside. ;)

Some details of the pretty faces in the latest Lady Eudora update. People read porn for the swirly curly hair, right?

This is Super Happy Funtime Burlesque’s first ever studio album, Wet. Unlike the live albums, you can hear every word in crystal clarity and the band is properly mixed. It has songs about food, Santa, necrophilia, penises, diet Pepsi, gay rock stars and more. It’s no secret that I’ve been a fan of this band long before I joined the show. These are some very fun and catchy songs.

The album’s release is well-timed, because the suspension on our tour bus decided to fall apart while we were on tour. We fixed it with duct tape and bungee cords so we could get home, but basically, we can’t go on any tours again until it’s fixed. And I love touring, and meeting so many of you, and doing shows for all you grand people across the country.

So, we need to sell just 100 copies of this to fix the bus. This album, which you were totally going to buy anyway because it’s awesome. Why not buy it now rather than later. You can listen to the album here on bandcamp and also purchase it digitally. You can also buy a physical CD here. Oh, you guys are gonna love it.

For those of you who haven’t been able to make it to my shows to buy my mini comics, great news. They’re now in my online store! See what really goes on in a traveling burlesque show. (Spoiler alert: so. many. smells.)

You Suck IAP #3 is running on Slipshine right now!

I love this! A wonderful reminder that sex in real life isn’t the same as what happens in stories, even sex-positive stories. :)

I’ve got a lot of new followers recently, and also I’m going away for a couple weeks, so now seemed like a good time to remind everyone of what I do and what they can read of mine until I return.

So, I draw a lot of comics. I have a few thousand pages out there.

YU+ME starts out as a schoolgirl romance story and then turns into a surreal adventure story with monsters. This is a complete story at 847 pages, and the book version that is coming out soon will have almost 100 extra pages in it.

Meaty Yogurt is a story about a small town with a curse: anyone born there, will die there, and nothing very interesting will happen in the meantime. Jackie attempts to break the curse and live a more interesting life. This is an ongoing story currently up to around 180-some pages. It can be a bit NSFW.

I have several porno comics on Filthy Figments. There’s Darlin’ It’s Betta Down Where It’s Wetta, a story about a mermaid who wants a vagina, and the human girl she falls for, which is completed, around 150 pages. My ongoing smut comics are: The Lady Eudora Henley, an Edwardian BDSM illustrated story and Eat Me, a drug-induced hallucination about food people. I also have a story in Smut Peddler, and the kickstarter is still ongoing.

I have a bunch of comics on tumblr that are the reason many of you are here. This is where I reblog stuff that makes me laugh. I have a store, I also sell fabric.

I am in a burlesque troupe called Super Happy Funtime Burlesque. We tour around the United States several months of the year. My tour schedule is here. I go by Florence of Alabia and I have a burlesque tumblr. I draw diary comics while on the road and collect them under the title Comic Stripper. Everything in this paragraph is NSFW.

Here’s my twitter. Here’s my instagram. Both of these are a great way to see what life is like on the road.

So, that should hopefully be enough for new readers to pour through while I’m off on another adventure. See you all in a couple weeks!

I think porn serves a purpose. I think it’ll always serve a purpose. You can find examples of erotic art spanning all of human history, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon, so women need to be part of the process of making it. We need to be represented, not as objects or props, but as active participants, producers, and consumers worth creating for. We need to take charge and express our own desires.
Any time you go long enough without input from women, you’re creating a climate for misogyny to thrive. Very little porn is made with women in mind. A lot of porn is incredibly misogynistic, but porn is not inherently misogynistic. Porn can be incredibly feminist. It’s the same as any other form of media. Superhero comics have been criticized for misogyny, and are often created with men as the target audience, but that doesn’t mean comics are inherently bad or only for men. The comics industry gets better the closer we get to balancing the gender ratio of the people creating it. The porn industry has a long way to go, but it can get better just like anything else.
The success of women-driven projects like Smut Peddler and Filthy Figments attest to this, that women are interested in smut. We’re eager consumers who aren’t often catered to, we’re talented creators with a lot to say. Let’s lose the guilt and shame and silence. Long live ladyporn!
