sofasandquills: Wait what so the Starbucks mermaid actually has two tails like that? This messed up my whole morning. Oh yeah! Their first logo was actually based on an old etching of a siren/mermaid from the 15th century. Back then, mermaids were used by the church in a lot of morality tales warning against “lustful urges”. The twin tails made it so you could put a vagina in between. Then the stories would be about men falling prey to their sinful delights and before dying violently.
