Hello, followers! There’s a whole lot of you, and some of you don’t know what I’m all about. Some of you have only seen the tip of the iceberg that is me. So here is a crash course in Rosalarian.

I draw comics. Not just on Tumblr! Big, fleshed out series. With lots of pages and adventures. They are:

I Was Kidnapped By Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space!!! (incredibly work-safe!) is pretty much “what it says on the box.” Set in the 1950’s and ‘60’s, and drawn in a style reminiscent of Golden Age EC comics, it tells the story of an innocent Earthling gal named Susie who is kidnapped by sapphic swashbucklers. It’s a silly, satirical story that references Star Trek, Greek mythology, horror, romance, and a bunch of other stuff. Currently on its 15th issue.

Meaty Yogurt (mostly SFW, depending on your work) is about a woman named Jackie born in a town with a curse: if you’re born there, you’ll die there, with nothing of note in between. Jackie is determined to break the curse, and it follows her attempts to do so, as well as the various relationships she has with people around her. It’s a bit slice of life, but it’s also just getting started. There’s a bit of paranormal stuff already, and it’ll delve more into some pretty mindtrippey stuff. There are just over 100 pages

YU+ME: dream (SFW aside from a couple pages towards the end) is my big epic surreal romance adventure story. It starts as a pretty typical girl-meets-girl story, but there’s a twist that calls the reality of the main character into question, and involves dream worlds, an epic journey, philosophy, and lots of twists. I finished it a year ago at 847 pages. If you don’t like reading on the web, you can buy all 6 volumes in book form here.

Darlin’ It’s Betta Down Where It’s Wetta (very NSFW) is my porno comic hosted at Filthy Figments. It follows Pearl, a mermaid who really loves vaginas, and Chloe, a human girl who washes up on a beach one day. I try to employ lots of body type variety in here, and it’s got a LOT of humor (“nautical sex puns” as my friends like to say). There are 4 chapters up so far, with a fifth to go up this month. This site also has a lot of other really awesome lady-friendly adult comics worth checking out.

Le Jardin (kinda NSFW) is a short story, an homage to Edgar Allen Poe. It’s the tale of a gardener driven to madness by his cheating wife. This was a 24-hour comic.

Wow, you can really tell that I don’t have too much of a social life. Totally worth it.

Some important on-Tumblr tags for my art:

• Doodles varying quality, contains lots of short comics
• Art tends to be more thought-out pieces, or stuff I think is a bit more polished
• Dressed to Kill is full of commentary on superhero costumes. Not all of it is my own original work, although a lot of it is. It started with this piece is which I put a bunch of male characters in female character’s costumes.

I run a Tumblr called Fat People Art, showcasing visual art featuring fat bodies. I know a lot of artists who are interested in adding more body types into their work, but don’t know how to draw them, and other people just want to see art featuring people who look like them. Both of these needs get satisfied with this blog.

Another Big Important Thing I did is an article on Writing Gay Characters. It’s a bit old, and I’ll be doing some revisions soon probably, but it’s more or less a primer for writers who want to include non-straight characters. It’s really a 101 course, and I’m fully aware that the stuff discussed is incredibly nuanced.

Aside from that, this Tumblr is about 25% my art, 25% me writing about stuff to varying degrees of seriousness, and 50% me sharing stuff I think is cool.
